This is perfect advice. Just today I was thinking about turning my life into a movie. I was literally narrating my life as I walked from class to class like they do in the beginnings of movies! …..I’m so weird. ha ha
I love the ’80s movies! Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Breakfast Club, Say Anything! They make me wish I lived in the ’80s.
Pretty sure I’d be living in an indie coming of age movie.
That probably makes me sound pretentious, but I’m just so quirky that I don’t give a damn. Now please excuse me while I wear a peacoat while listening to The Smiths.
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha, love this although i always grew up thinking my life would be just like cher from clueless(without the half brother shit thats your weeeird)
….also i can’t believe I’m reading your blog while I’m in my trademark Law seminar(on a saturday, because us master students never get any sleep or an actual life)
This is just brilliant, what else could I say? I think my coming of age movie would’ve been a mixture of Indie and Shakespeare, as weird as it sounds in my head right now…
Very funny!
But the graphics couldn’t possibly be any more hideous. If only they were as pretty as the rest of Rookiemag! Handwritten, collagey loveliness.

Hello, you. June’s theme will be LONGING. Unlike more-acute forms of desire like desperation or need, longing is a sweet ache—more pining for something than dying for it. It’s nostalgia, homesickness, boredom, a persistent feeling of lack, dreaming of escape/the future. It’s summer: summer homes & cottages, stuffy summer bedrooms, sun-bleached memories of summers past. The shadow of September that hangs over June. It’s secret hangouts, crushes, unrequited love. Send what you’ve got here, and thanks. ♥
Rookie is a website for teenage girls. With monthly-themed content, we update three times a day, five days a week, and are happy to offer you millions of bad puns. Click here to find out where to send stuff you'd like us to see. Learn about the people who write this thing here.
