Well hello there. Next month's theme is IMITATION. We're looking for written and visual work that has to do with mimicry, replication, re-enactment, dramatization, novelization, repetition. Not to mention: camouflage, fakes, counterfeits, “authenticity,” “reality.” Send your stuff here, and thanks. ♥

I’d force myself to get over my fear of skateboarding if I had one of those. These are lovely.
Log in to replyAs long as your board stays on the ground, theres nothing to be afraid of… i must now cover the bottom of my skateboard in stickers!
Log in to replythis is glorious I am in love with this pure awesomeness
Log in to replythe one with the hands and bracelets is very virgin suicides-esque: i love it.
Log in to replyLove the naked lady/rhinestone skateboard. And pic #5. And I must replicate that glittery under eye makeup.
Log in to replyi always leave petra’s photos with the urge to recreate something as ethereal as them. these are lovely!
Log in to replyGlitter!
Log in to replyWow, that is totally the front porch to my apartment. I thought it looked familiar…
Log in to replyha! thanks for letting us use your house! we used munas room too.
Log in to replyxx
Haha, no problem. I’m glad the pylons got to make it into one of the photos. :)
Log in to replyI agree completely with Narnie… the bracelets are very virgin suicides. I like the holding of hands, and the whispering. It sort of combines last month’s theme.
Log in to replyAlso, these photos are awesome!
Log in to replyLOVE the photos, clothes, accessories and hair! It reminds me of Avril Lavigne meets Courtney Love.
Mmm…I remember the time when I had Avril’s 1st CD and she was on a skateboard – that was pure badassery. She proved that girls can skateboard.
Log in to replywe had no clue what to call these photos and almost titled it SK8R BOI
Log in to replyI had sk8er boi stuck in my head for like 3 days after the shoot…
Log in to replyIt’s so hard to escape nostalgia – it just comes back again and again.
Log in to replyloving the rainbow hair!
Log in to replyawesome!
Log in to replyi love love love love love love the blonde girls hair. so much.
Log in to replyGreat photos, but i personally would not have the lady balls nor the desire to withhold from shaving my underarms….
Log in to replyit’s really not a big deal :)
Log in to replyis that underarm hair? YAY LOVE IT
Log in to replyI’m gonna marry Petra so she has to take pictures of me every day………………………………………….
Log in to replythose skate boards are a DREAM.
Log in to replyI just want to curl into the photos and live in them.
Log in to replyjust a shout out that i couldn’t have made the pansy board without my friends sally and frazer. <3
Log in to replyNo but seriously, WHERE are the fat girls???
Log in to replyWe’re working on it, I promise, Katig. It’s super important to us to get better at representing all kinds of awesome girls. We do these shoots with zero budget, and the photographers just use their siblings and friends as models. Meanwhile, look! Armpit hair! Girls on skateboards! Not that that’s enough, by any means, but it’s something, at least to me.
Log in to replythese are beautiful I loved everyone of them they are really inspiring x
Log in to replyIs armpit hair a fashion statement? (Sorry, I’m not a fashion person and I don’t get these things.)
Log in to replycan’t express how much I love this
Log in to replyso random with the skateboards, but it looks lovely. I wish those girls were around in my neighborhood
Log in to reply@mooncake
I don’t know if armpit hair is a fashion statement, but personally I let it start growing after my first relationship (blerg). I realized that I didn’t really care if my leg hair or arm pit hair was 10 inches long, people around me would just have to live with it.
There is also a controversial fact (I don’t know if it’s true) that it helps facilitate sexual attractant pheromones there + helps reduce friction.
Log in to replysame – I let mine grow too. It’s not a fashion statement it’s about being comfortable with my body – hair and all. LADIES – unless its a personal choice to shave please don’t shave because you feel you have to because of someone or because of society! Hair is beautiful, LET IF GROW.
Log in to replyhope that makes sense(?). my comment applies to down south. i support BUSH y’all
Log in to replyi dont shave my legs at all… my boyfriend sure doesn’t care and all my guy friends are actually really encouraging about it and hi five me when they see me bare legged… it’s super sweet haha
Log in to replyi agree. it’s hard to speak out about it though because it always comes down to personal choice. i don’t want to feel like i’m ~~educating girls about how ~~~unfeminist it is to shave your armpits (it’s not about that at all) but it’s hard to open up dialogue about body hair and body policing without getting under someone’s hackles. but at the same time when someone comments on how ‘weird’ it is to see armpit hair on girls a little part of me withers a bit. i wish we could get to the point where showing an image of a lady with body hair DOESN’T result in a flurry of comments (positive OR negative).
Log in to replyPetra, THANK YOU. This is exactly what I try to explain to my peers n such but they don’t understand + find it easier to just say “ew she doesn’t shave hippie GROSS”. Glad to know I’m not alone on supporting hair. LONG HAIR DON’T CARE.
Log in to replyOkay everyone to their own but under arm hair on men and women seriously makes me want to VOMIT.
Lovely pictures though. :]
Log in to replyThese pictures are AWESOME!!! Petra i so love your work, it is so inspiring! Thank you so much!
Log in to replyFinally registering since I’ve been reading this for awhile (admittedly I am not a ‘teen’ or ‘tween’ but am loving the ‘style’ and ‘eye candy’ pieces here!)

Log in to replyThese makes me happy.
They show femininity doesn’t have to be defined by men!
Yup! Also, looks like awesome screencap’s from awesome movie.
(as for the hair shaving-or-not debate, I actually dye my legs’ hair blond from time to time.)
#4 = LOVE
(and I love the nonchalant pit hair)
Log in to replyHi this is the second page of yours I noticed this happening so far, I try to click on the “next” button and it won’t go to the next photo? This is the first night I had this problem and I’m bumming because I want eye candy!
Log in to replyWhat browser are you using?
Log in to replyI was in chrome but I just thought to try in firefox and now it’s working. I’ll just have to remember not to use chrome next time! Thanks.
Log in to replyI love all of Petra’s photos. They remind me of a Sofia Coppola movie. So dreamy and emotional. I love the clothes too and the kandi bracelets are awesome.
