This month’s grown person: Chicago rapper Psalm One. Please enjoy!
Psalm One is on Facebook and will be performing in the Paid Dues Festival in San Bernadino, California, in April.
If you have a question for next month’s Grown Person (a dude), please send it to youaskedit@rookiemag.com.

This is so great!
Log in to replyI love the ask a grown woman column but how about asking a grown woman about liking boys?
That’s what Just Wondering is for! Though I guess most of us aren’t GROWN women.
Log in to replyI love these! They are so insightful and so real. I only wish they were longer! I think I would get even more out of them if the “grown person” answered more questions. Thank you so much Rookie!
Log in to replyI loved this! She had great responses and I’m glad you all are addressing these questions. I wish Psalm One answered questions every month!
Log in to replyOmfg this is so great! She’s really smart and these kind of applied to my life currently.

Log in to replyShe has such a beautiful voice. I love rookie for feeling included (and also for the general wonderfullness, that’s good too).

Log in to replyCan’t watch it on my smartphone but it’s already amazing so I’ll watch it when I get to a computer!
Must say, the “Jeepers! This video can’t be played by your current setup” blah is genius.
Log in to replyLOVE this. She’s so articulate and so dead-on with her answers (and beautiful too!). I think a lot of queer teenagers/college students need to hear things like this more often. Meaning, when I was in high school I wanted to have questions like these answered, but a lot of the time I was too nervous to ask.
Thank you for answering questions like these, having such a great person doing the answering, and for not making it seem like a huge deal to be asking these questions in the first place. :]
Log in to replyI agree! Psalm One is so smart and beautiful.
Log in to replyThis is great!
Log in to replyShe’s so smart.

Whoaaa she’s a kick ass rapper! Thanks Rookie for introducing her to us.
Log in to replyyo rookie i love your queer content! i really wish you had a consistent tag for it, though, like “queer” or whatevs. that would be nice.
Log in to replyGood thinking! Thanks for the suggestion, we’ll work on this.
Log in to replywhoops, I should pay more attention to my own comment threads. I appreciate Violet and Anaheed’s point, but I actually made mine because I’ve noticed tags like “crushes” and “boys” and “dating” all tend to be heterosexual romanticky, whereas the queer things I’ve seen don’t all have “girls” and some “girls” might be girlfriends or friends-who-are-girls or or or (infinity boredom hands). Anyway, I know organizing shizz can be super hard and confusing but I have noticed some inconistent tagging for ladies-dating-ladies content. Something to consider, I guess!
Log in to replyThank you, beatricks! We’ll try to be more consistent with our tagging in general — usually “girls” means it’s about dating/liking girls, but you’re right, not all our gay stuff has that tag. I will try to remedy this!
Noooooo!!!
What I appreciate most is how Rookie manages to make everybody feel ‘normal’ by NOT making that kind of separation. It’s one more step towards not making a big deal / stigma out of it.
We are all the same people, with tons of micro- to macro- differences, why start segregating anyone?
Please please please don’t do that.
Love,

That makes sense actually – as Anaheed just pointed out to me, we don’t have a “straight” tag. I got rid of it, and beatricks, if you want to find content for queers, you can search for “gay,” “lesbian,” etc in the search bar, and articles with those words in the text will show up!
Thanks to both of you for thinking and talking about this! And helping to make Rookie a good time for all.
