Hello, you. June’s theme will be LONGING. Unlike more-acute forms of desire like desperation or need, longing is a sweet ache—more pining for something than dying for it. It’s nostalgia, homesickness, boredom, a persistent feeling of lack, dreaming of escape/the future. It’s summer: summer homes & cottages, stuffy summer bedrooms, sun-bleached memories of summers past. The shadow of September that hangs over June. It’s secret hangouts, crushes, unrequited love. Send what you’ve got here, and thanks. ♥

Log in to replyjust wonderful shots, a clever concept and just a lovely appearance wondering what camera these were take with?

faux style.
Log in to replythis is absolutely my favorite Rookie post so far. The “eye candy” posts just keep getting better and better and better. I’ve been going through a childhood nostalgia/ pastel vomit thing myself lately (which I wrote about on my blog: weaponheadblog.blogspot.com) and these pictures are so perfect, like doily arts and crafts and little kids in bubble gum colored skirts sitting two to a piano. VISUAL SATISFACTION. I’m curious what the inspiration was behind the cotton heads?
my blob is weaponheadblog.blogspot.com
Log in to replyThe eyelashes, and the shoes, and the crowns, and the everything is just perfect.
Log in to replyi love this :) erica’s photo albums always have a really unique aesthetic
Log in to replyThis album was adorable & pretty enough to make me register so I could comment on its adorableness & prettiness
Log in to replyargh these pictures are so weird and cute and fabulous. especially 5, with that absolutely perfect reflection. I loff. I also really like 15 for some reason.
were these taken in some mostly-abandoned complex? if it was, I love this set even more. I love photos of abandoned buildings. they’ve been a creepy obsession of mine for a really long time (boom! see what I did there?).
Log in to replyoh my dear lord. amazing. i’d like a largescale print of No.5 (dandelions reflected in the murky pool) so i can look at it for the rest of my life.
Log in to replyI was thinking the exact same thing! Would love to contact the artist to arrange something. The whole series screams Texas! to me (confirmed by the little “Temple Betel” sign in picture 15) and I can’t help but get utterly nostalgic for my dreamy teenage years wondering through quiet heat of San Antonio.
Log in to replyIt is San Antonio!!!! These were taken at a Bible college my dad teaches at!
Log in to replythe bejeweled shoes, the bejeweled shoes, the bejeweled shoes, the bejeweled shoes. ahh. i can’t. <3
