Here are 21 tracks from the global psych underground, suitable for stomping the gear shops of Carnaby Street, haunting the incense-scented streets of Istanbul, and shimmying on the Sunset Strip. Open your head, let the pictures come. This is a good weekend for some “soul-manifesting,” don’t you think?

Log in to replyThis is AWESOME, but I was expecting some Gang Gang Dance/Stevie Nicks type stuff! What is more explorer-y than glitter-and–acid electro and everyone’s favourite pop witch?

“Outta the mist how could I miss you with your drugs?
Log in to replyOutta the mist how could I miss you with your druggy ways?
(your drugs)
Outta the mist
(I missed you)
Outta the mist
Outta the mist I kissed your lovely drug-filled lips.”
Oh man, you’re awesome, I hadn’t thought about them crazy Flemion Brothers in YEARS!! I love that one song where they basically just make fun of Nirvana the whole time. Maybe I’ll make a future playlist about 90s semi-psych weirdos, like them, Mercury Rev, early Flaming Lips, etc.
Log in to replyWHOA whoa whoaaa there…wheres all the early pink floyd with Syd Barrett? The Gnome? whats more phsychadellic than that?
