I am forever trying to find a better song than ‘she blinded me with science’ to work out to, and i am forever realizing how GODDAMN DELUDED I AM! Good work kids!!!!
how can there not be a GOGOL BORDELLO song here? they are the wanderlust KINGS
just kidding
but seriously
a band composed by immigrants from all over the world
singing about tribal connection and going all around the world with gypsy punk beats…
could i write a literally the best thing ever about them maybe?
Can anyone else not stop seeing little movie stills of Wristcutters: A Love Story whenever you hear anything by Gogol Bordello? That movie made me love them.
Have you guys ever featured Beirut in a playlist? His songs all sound like drunken Eastern Europe pub tunes and talk about weird destinations. I love these playlists man.
I LOVE Mirah’s “Cold, Cold Water”… I listened to it a million times during one earth shattering break up and then did the “freedom dance” like Angela Chase did when she got over Jordan Catalano–and I was free. This is how I remember this song:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddWB0W42fy8
The Beach Boys! Ahh, I went to a party last Friday, there was a band that played the most beautiful cover of sloop John B. Thankyou Rookie for motivating me to explore, you’ve inspired me for my latest blog post.

Hello, you. June’s theme will be LONGING. Unlike more-acute forms of desire like desperation or need, longing is a sweet ache—more pining for something than dying for it. It’s nostalgia, homesickness, boredom, a persistent feeling of lack, dreaming of escape/the future. It’s summer: summer homes & cottages, stuffy summer bedrooms, sun-bleached memories of summers past. The shadow of September that hangs over June. It’s secret hangouts, crushes, unrequited love. Send what you’ve got here, and thanks. ♥

Agreed on Gogol Bordello being the best thing ever! And by extension Eugene Hütz is literally the best person ever.
