This month’s theme song is by Kirsten & Marie, 20-year-old Danish twin sisters that we randomly came across on YouTube and fell in instant love with.
This song, “Frydeligt Med Jubelkor,” is taken from an old-school Danish psalm. Their label translates the title as “a delight with a choir of enthusiasm”—exactly how we feel about Kirsten & Marie.
Their new album, Newspeak, comes out on April 23. You can pre-order a digital, vinyl, or CD version.
If you want to submit a Rookie theme song by you or your band, please write to us at submissions@rookiemag.com.

Log in to replySee where the name of the song is underlined, above the player? That is a link to the MP4 of the song.
Log in to replyIf you like Kirsten & Marie, do yourself a favor and check out the Danish band The Rumour Said Fire, too. TRSF are obviously amazing, and their first track “The Balcony” is, like, the best song ever.
