Hello, you. June’s theme will be LONGING. Unlike more-acute forms of desire like desperation or need, longing is a sweet ache—more pining for something than dying for it. It’s nostalgia, homesickness, boredom, a persistent feeling of lack, dreaming of escape/the future. It’s summer: summer homes & cottages, stuffy summer bedrooms, sun-bleached memories of summers past. The shadow of September that hangs over June. It’s secret hangouts, crushes, unrequited love. Log in to replyI have a sort of love/hate relationship with your pictures. Everything seems so idealistic, with lovely atmospheres, fun adventures and beautiful and hip people. It’s always exciting, if a bit invasive and jealous making. Must admit, excited to see another one up!

I feel like these photo diaries basically sum up the 2012 archetype of a hip life. Like, I would put the second photo on the roof in a sociology textbook, in the chapter on “cool.”

may i ask what kind of camera you used for these? did you use film? if so, what kind?
