Hello, you. June’s theme will be LONGING. Unlike more-acute forms of desire like desperation or need, longing is a sweet ache—more pining for something than dying for it. It’s nostalgia, homesickness, boredom, a persistent feeling of lack, dreaming of escape/the future. It’s summer: summer homes & cottages, stuffy summer bedrooms, sun-bleached memories of summers past. The shadow of September that hangs over June. It’s secret hangouts, crushes, unrequited love. Send what you’ve got here, and thanks. ♥

Log in to replyEverything. It all looks so amazing! How long is it? Why is it done?
http://blazoningpens.blogspot.com/
it takes about week – some people don’t work and students don’t have classes. carnival is celebrated in a different way in every part of the country, but the most famous parade is in rio de janeiro. actually, it’s an old portuguese tradition. more about it here: http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnaval

Second, I just wanted to say that Rookie Roadtrip: New York Edition was flippin AWESOME! Tavi, you’re so sweet and so absolutely easy to talk to! I hope you like my amulet thing (?) (what?) and yeah. The end. Although I kind of wish I gave you my blog name because what would be cooler than having TAVI read your blog?! (http://under-a-bridge.blogspot.com/) (WHAT? I’M NOT SHAMELESSLY SELF PROMOTING! PSHHHTTT.)
Anaheed, you are such a lovely person. There is nothing more welcoming when you are nervously excited than a beautiful woman in a silk lounge top hug you without warning! <3 *internet love*
Amy Rose, you are a totally bitchen’ dude/bro/man! #soupdumplings (need I say more?)
I didn’t really get to talk to Petra or Hazel, but you both seem so cool, as well as the band SUPER CUTE WHO WERE (in Charlotte’s words) SUPER CUTE.
Lastly, it was so wonderful to meet other readers! This group was so welcoming and everyone was so approachable and stylin’ and wonderful! Shoutout to all my new friends from That One Weird Girl In The Green Turban/Headscarf Thing. Yeah. And thank you for the waffle!
Love,

Yay! I’m ecstatic to see that you guys covered the Mermaid Parade! It’s one of the best (FREE) things to do in New York. (Did I mention that it’s free?!) And you get to dress up, so that’s really cool. I, myself, dressed up and made my own costume! I bought a shell bra from a 99 cent store, glued some gems on it with my hot glue gun, brought out teal sequined fabric to make my skirt, got some cheap pearly-like costume jewelry from a beauty supply store, and let my natural hair freee!
I was such a happy mermaid. *soul clap*
Log in to replythis is 402 kinds of glorious.
