We met Dillon and Emily (aka Cloud Carrier) during our road trip, in Boulder, Colorado. We were so taken with their intense adorability and hilariousness and, once we’d creeped them online and listened to their music, their crazy talent for creating dreamy and danceable music, that we asked them to make this month’s theme song.
If you want to pitch/submit a Rookie theme song by you or your band, please write to us at submissions@rookiemag.com, and write THEME SONG in the subject line.

I can’t play the song :(

Log in to replyI’d like to point out that, after reading that New York Times article, I burst into tears because I wasn’t able to attend any Rookie Road Trip events.
But I’m digging all this attention from the Times towards things like Rookie and Girls Rock ATL.
Log in to replyI just read it and I totally feel like crying! I’m so bummed that I couldn’t go to any of the events.
Log in to replyThe little video on the article was kinda cool because it had interviews with girls saying the impact that Tavi has on them.
I’m 16 and I started reading her blog in 7th grade and seriously, Tavi, THANK YOU FOR BEING BORN. you are the best.
