Whether jamming with blues legends on her sax, confronting the Man through protest songs, or geeking out to non-threatening boy bands, Lisa Simpson likes her tunes. Here are some tracks to listen to at a slumber party with our favorite animated second-grader. (If you play “Maybe I’m Amazed” backwards, you’ll hear a recipe for a ripping lentil soup.)

Alright! Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney! Way to go Lisa!
Log in to replyAs long as you are playing Lisa Simpson originals we HAVE to include Lisa’s Protest Song.
“Cause we’ll march day and night by the big cooling tower…

Log in to replyLisa is and will always be my idol.
Log in to replyyou guys should post these playlists on spotify too though!
Agreed! It’s easier to keep and listen to these playlists via Spotify rather than having to scroll through a monster folder of bookmarks. Plus 8tracks doesn’t always work for me :(
Log in to replyawwww yissssss pumpkins!!!
Log in to replyis she holding a ghost world comic in that picture??? lisa is way cooler than i’d imagined…
Log in to replyYeah, it’s from an episode called Husband and Knives. She was in line to meet the creator that actually did the voice over. Not sure when she listened to boy bands though. I guess I should watch Radio Bart again :D I got all the other references pretty quick.

Log in to replyAAAAH I’ve been waiting for this for ages! Lisa is so cool, she was like my big sister growing up. Best post ever! :D
Log in to replyJoanna Newsom would have been too obvious a choice, I guess. :)
Log in to replyI knew Lisa played the sax, I should have known she had spectacular taste in music! This playlist helps me appreciate The Simpsons a little more.

Log in to replyPaul McCartney <3
Log in to replyHello lovely rookies! ♥
Log in to replyThis playlist is absolutely perf, but since we’re talking about Lisa,a great sax player,I think it would have been super nice to see some Miles Davis or some jazz in there!
Or some Coltrane!! (I’m pretty sure Lisa named her cat after him) (Plus he was the only person who’s music we’d play in my jazz band because the conductor was super into him).
Log in to replyWe need some fangirl music on here. One Direction anybody?
Log in to replyThat’s where the NKOTB comes in! I figured they would’ve fit with the era (maybe a bit earlier) of the Simpsons at their peak.
Log in to replylol I totally forgot about that! Lisa Simpson represents all fangirls everywhere
Log in to replyYEAH!!!! I just used Hot Topic in one of my English essays to stress the point of feminism still needing to be seen as relevant and necessary in today’s society (because the movement IS still relevant and necessary) … “Don’t stop… We won’t stop!”
Anywho, this is fab~*~*~*~

Log in to replyI didn’t look at the tracklisting and was thinking how much of a good song Meat is Murder would be to have on this playlist and then I heard that familiar sound of the intro and I nearly Morrissey/Lisa Simpson fangirled all over my room.
Log in to replyYeah I should really do my uni work now.
just going to put it out there that i think a ‘hanging out with annie hall’ playlist should be made soon! but yeah this is brilliant!
Log in to replyIs there any way we can download these? Or is that some sort of illegal? Thanks!.
Log in to replyI think they do them on 8tracks which makes it super hard to download them? I’m sure there’s a way (and it’s probably super easy once you know it) but 8tracks doesn’t put download links on it’s website (probably for piracy laws etc).
Log in to replywhen Jazzman played I started getting teary-eyed. it’s been so long since I’ve heard that!
Log in to replyLisa is the coolest. I liked the Smashing Pumpkins pick!
Log in to replyWings, Bob Dylan, AND Lesley Gore? YES!
Log in to replyAnd Jazzman is a Simpson’s classic.
