Hello, you. June’s theme will be LONGING. Unlike more-acute forms of desire like desperation or need, longing is a sweet ache—more pining for something than dying for it. It’s nostalgia, homesickness, boredom, a persistent feeling of lack, dreaming of escape/the future. It’s summer: summer homes & cottages, stuffy summer bedrooms, sun-bleached memories of summers past. The shadow of September that hangs over June. It’s secret hangouts, crushes, unrequited love. Send what you’ve got here, and thanks. ♥

Log in to replySO SO SO SO SO RAD. The stars and moon and I have to ask if this was inspired by George Melies because it looks EXACTLY like his movies. #7 is scary and perfect and the best thing ever and CHRISSIE RULES.

Log in to replyEspecially love the slight awkwardness in picture 4 haha! The whole set reminds me a lot of the smashing pumpkins ‘mellon collie and the infinite sadness” album artwork as well as ‘La Voyage dans la lune. Check them out too! So inspiring

Log in to replyHey Rookie,
Sorry this is out of context but didn’t know how to reach out for a quick and visible call:
Are you going to say anything about Aaron Swartz? I know he’s not a girl but his fight for an open, free internet was so important.
Please consider some kind of tribute and spreading of this legacy.

Log in to replyFAVORITE ROOKIE SHOOT!
Log in to replyAmazing, love the theme, love the costumes, love the art of all the photographs: like all the people were part of one big art piece.
Fantastic!
It has this interesting effect of being like a photoshoot of a photoshoot… the cardboard stars especially give the impression that you’re on a set of some kind. But then also in it, in a surreal way. The acting is evident, like the illusion draws attention to itself and to the fact that it’s an illusion, which isn’t usually considered a good thing, but here it’s magic. Definately my favorite.
Log in to replyThese are so beautiful and inspiring
Log in to replyThis is wonderful. I love the dancing… Rookie should consider doing a dance theme in the future. Mythology and Religion have been enjoyable, but dance would be heaven.
Again, beautiful- I love the sets and colours (they make me think, a little bit, of Hugo).
Log in to replyWow. This is my new favorite eye candy!
