Log in to replyMy grin grew increasingly as I scanned down the track list. This has got to be one of my favouite Rookie playlists so far!
And it makes for perfect listening after a ‘Stargazing Live’ catch-up. If you’re in the UK and you haven’t yet seen any of series 3, you should hit up iPlayer, like, now. Brian Cox and Dara O’Briain -as well as an appearance from Brian May of Queen fame!- talking about outer space, stargazing, and the Curiosity Rover is among the coolest things to ever happen (although I’ll admit it’d be ten times cooler if there were more women appearing). Thanks, Rookie!
Log in to replyI kind of just felt a relief and sense of pure carelessness and happiness with this playlist. Rookie team rules.
Log in to replyAlsoooo Starman by Bowie. If I may be so bold.
Log in to replyLonely Moon by the Cat Empire would make this lovely playlist complete, I think.

Log in to replyThis looks like a fabulous playlist (I’m listening to the second track now but I haven’t heard most of the songs before – I just assume they’re going to be brilliant, cause Rookie playlists usually are).
Anyway, this is another song about the moon that I like and think you all should listen to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpUP0jjicqY
Log in to replyIt’s by The Hush Sound; the music feels lilting in a way that seems whimsical and sorrowful and mystical all at the same time; and there’s even a reference to Sylvia Plath’s “Mirror” in the lyrics, which I love.
I love this sort of pagan vibe stuff! I just love anything to do with pagan vibes/moons/rituals. ly rookie

Hey now!
There’s NO WAY you can have a moon beam playlist without The Moonbeam Song by Harry Nilsson. You know who he is, right? The man both John Lennon and Paul McCartney named in response to an interviewer in 1968 who asked “Who’s your favorite American artist?” The man with the multi-octave angelic voice!
