    The story reminds me a little of The Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson (which is utterly amazing).

    Elf ears are so cuute! I used to want to have surgery to have them and everything. People still called me Elf despite my lack of elfy ears, and I loved it. But I know how people teasing you could make you think a trait you have is a bad thing when in reality it’s not.
