Log in to replyThank you for all the sweet comments! And for everyone who loves BRIGHT STAR. I have it saved on my external hard drive and watched it in tiny increments over the period of a year. I just didn’t want it to end.
To answer collage questions:
1. Yes. These take me ages to do (b/c of my perfectionism probz) but sometimes only a few minutes. It depends on my mood/frame of mind because collage is just constant decision making ‘yes or no ? stay or go?’. Everything has to balance out – like putting together a big mobile. Matching words and images can take time as well as ordering pages. Poetry from images. Dickinson forever.
2. I have been collecting images for years and have boxes of ephemera. I keep these papers organized in 3-ring binders with clear archival sleeves so i can flip through quickly. My archiving system.
I cannot live without a scanner (if i could strap one to my back in a ruck sack, i just might). I have hundreds of files on my laptop and that external hard drive i spoke of. And ! i get a lot of my images online (just search for really high rez pics). So yes! I’m combining scans of found imagery, original works, hand script, digital images etc.
Thrift shops are kind of the best for paper stuffs. Discarded library books. NatGeos, album covers, U name it. It’s waiting for you.
3. This piece was to be about love in general relating to Nicks and Swift lyrics (& beyond) but i went off on my own tangent (the girl can’t help it). I’m prone 2 heartbreaks a-plenty but that’s just life. I’m still figuring it out.
