I read every single post, every single day. I just can’t believe that you added Valle de Valium by Babasónicos to one of your Friday Playlists. It’s one of my fave songs EVER. I literally grew up (still do) with Babasónicos. Even though there are many songs that remind me of someone/something special, there’s one in particular that kills me every time I listen to it, Gustavo Show. But I just can’t stop listening to it or any of the songs that make me sad. I have even adapted songs to different lovers, is that possible ? yes, indeed.
SO, thank you very much to whoever added this song, it made me REALLY happy and now I love Rookie even more !

Log in to replyMy two big ones are “Under the Milky Way” and pretty much anything by the Cure, particularly the ‘Disintegration’ album. ‘Disintegration’ got me through my mother’s divorce from her second husband, which was violent and scary. This happened when I was in seventh grade, and I understood that record in a way no seventh-grader should. A guy I crushed on took me to see the Church, and he proceeded to drag me through the mud and manipulate me because he saw how much I loved him. So no more Church for me. :(

For me, it’s Always and I’ll Be There For You by Bon Jovi. great songs if you’re ever looking for something to listen to, but there’s just too much pain there for me. someday, after some time has passed, I’ll take those songs back and claim them as my own, because I love music and I refuse to give past suffering the power to decide which songs I can enjoy.
